Your Health Data Stays on Your Device

SteadyGaze is designed with privacy at its core. Your exercise sessions, dizziness ratings, progress and settings stay on your device. The app sends two kinds of anonymous reports to our own server: crash and error diagnostics, and usage analytics, both described below. Neither contains your name, your symptoms, your dizziness ratings or your results.

What Data We Collect

• No accounts: SteadyGaze does not require you to create an account.
• No tracking: We do not track you across other apps or websites, and nothing the app sends is linked to your name, email or an account.
• No advertising: The app shows no ads.
• No third-party services: We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services within the app.

Crash and Error Diagnostics

When something goes wrong in the app, such as a crash, a file that cannot be read, or a purchase that fails to load, SteadyGaze sends a short report to our own server so we can fix it. A report contains:

• A description of the error
• The app version, the operating system version, and the device model
• A random identifier created when the app is installed, so reports from one install can be grouped. It is not linked to your name, email, or any account.

On iPhone, the app also sends Apple's anonymous performance and crash metrics (MetricKit) to the same server. Reports never contain your exercise data, dizziness ratings, or the programs you use. We use them only to fix problems and do not sell or share them.

Usage Analytics

To see which parts of the app get used, SteadyGaze sends short usage events to our own server at bigballi.com. An event records a step such as onboarding starting or finishing, the upgrade screen opening, a purchase completing, being cancelled or failing, purchases being restored, an exercise session starting or finishing, or a program being shared or imported.

Some events carry a fixed label: which screen opened the upgrade screen, the product id, a store error code, the exercise type and direction of a session, and whether it used AirPods or the metronome. Every event also carries the random install identifier described above, a session identifier, the app version, the device model, the platform and the time.

Events never contain your dizziness ratings, symptoms, rep counts, head speed, program names, notes or anything you type. We use them only to improve the app and do not sell or share them.

Motion Data

On iPhone, SteadyGaze uses your AirPods' motion sensor to measure head movement during exercises. The Android app does not read head motion. This motion data:

• Is processed entirely on your device in real-time
• Is never stored permanently
• Is never transmitted to our servers or any third party
• Is only used to provide audio feedback during your exercise session

Exercise Programs from Clinicians

If your clinician sends you a custom exercise program via a link or file:

• The program is imported directly into the app on your device
• The program's name, settings and notes are never sent to us. Usage analytics record only that a program was imported or a session finished, and its exercise type.
• The program data remains on your device only

In-App Purchases

If you purchase SteadyGaze Premium, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store on iPhone, or by Google through Google Play on Android. We do not receive or store your payment information. Apple and Google may share anonymized transaction data with us for accounting purposes, but this does not include any personally identifiable information.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
